A nice D7000 package to be had

Saw this ad on my locals website. Seems like if you are in the USA, you can order. Though, I would call ahead of time to make sure. Don't know much about the Travor grip. Anyhow, thought anyone wanting a D7000 would be interested.

Per B&H:

Tamron 18-270mm - $499 retail (not sure how much it can be had for elsewhere new)
D7000 - $896 with bag & 16GB Class 10 SDcard
Vello - BG-N4 Battery Grip for Nikon D7000 - $70

Seems like a decent deal. Is this a new or refurb D7000?

I am pretty sure that this is a brand new D7K. it is not a very big store inside, so I would imagine they are trying to get rid of stock. As I said, anyone who wants to order from outside of Canada, should really call or email to inquire about all the details, ie: duty/customs, warranty, etc.

Reviews on the Tamron 18-270 were lukewarm at best. This isn't a knock on Tamron but reviews on that particular lens as I did buy their 70-300. eBay has the Travor grip for ~$35.

For a d7000 kit purchase I strongly recommend the Nikon 18-105. B&H and others have it (with spare battery, 16g SD card, shoulder pack and USA warranty) for under $1100.

2 months ago or so I bought the Tamron 18-270 for $449 with a $75 rebate from Hunts Camera (Boston Mass & S. Portland Maine). Now that was a good deal. I paid $895 for the D7000 body only. Needless to say, the D7000 is selling now w/a 18-105 Nikon lens for about the same price as I paid body only, since the D7100 came out.

The Nikon D7000 is a great camera, I paid 1200.00 for mine about 16 month's ago(body only). For 895.00 they will not be out of stock soon!
