Nikon 14-24MM wide

Hello,

I just bought this lens and took it out to photograph a Japanese destroyer that was visiting our Naval Station. I am using a D800 with this lens. When I looked at all the images I took today, they were washed out. Any idea why? First time using it and camera is set to automatic.

We'll need a lot more info than that. What do you mean by "automatic". Is it Program, Aperture Priority, etc? What was your ISO setting? Answer these questions and/or post a pic with data or there's nothing we can do to help.

A D800 does not have an "automatic" setting.
