The aquatic fowl only gave me one shot before he flew away. I was set on Auto everything at max zoom (200 mm). I tried to slowly move in to pull back from max zoom as well as try other settings, but the bird thought better of it. The picture was post processed with DXO8 using all the default settings for the D7100 and the 18-200 Nikkor lens.

Never used auto - pretty impressive results.

I wanted to start with auto and then switch to other settings for comparison, but the bird thought one was enough. Maybe next time I'll use the "quiet" setting LOL!

At the beginning I used Auto on y D80 a lot of not to say 99.9%. But since last May when I got my D5100 I started to try things without Auto.

Now to your photo, it looks great. A bit composition after shoot in a photo-program and it will be more greater, I guess.
