Auto ISO - HELP!!!

I have a question. I was shooting some evening shot this past weekend at a street festival and I noticed that my ISO would not go above 1600 and I was getting camera shake and blurry pictures. I was using the No Flash Auto mode. The only way I could get the ISO to change to a faster was to use the "P" mode and change it myself. What setting would I need to change so that the Auto ISO change to a faster ISO if it needs to?

Have you dig through the menu to see if your max ISO is limited? That would be a start.

Change the D3 menu option to "Show ISO/Easy ISO"... this allows the ISO setting to display in the little LCD on top where the remaining shots counter used to be...

​Now simply hold the ISO button above the Qual. button on the back in... and turn the rear command dial to whatever ISO you want...

Minimum sensitivity to ISO 100
Max sensitivity to ISO 3200.

I would only use it in Manual mode. By using it in M mode you can control shutter speed and depth of field to what you need and let the camera set the light by the auto ISO.
