I'm working to grasp options for re-composing shots with my D7000 so please tell me if I'm on track with the following:
For Matrix metering with focus modes AF-A dynamic or AF-C, I would only need to set the Lock button to AF Lock since AE Lock doesn't work well with Matrix metering.
For Center weighted or Spot metering with focus modes AF-A dynamic or AF-C, I could set the Lock button to AE & AF Lock.
For any metering mode with focus modes AF-S or AF-A Single point, I would only want to set the Lock button to AE Lock since the focus locks with a half-press of the shutter button.
To further expand my understanding, what would be the advantages and disadvantages of setting the exposure to lock with a half-press of the shutter button?
