Thank you. Should I use 50mm for big family shots? Or rent a wider lens? I'm not too confident with using my flash. Do you think it's needed for fill or can I get away without it?
Better acquire a good strong nd filter because the beach can have some seriously bright light especially if it is white sand.
Yes snow is double tough...super bright and cold!
Oh and NEVER EVER set your camera, your camera in it's bag, or anything related to your camera on the sand...not even for a second
Sand is bad...it is really bad if you get it into your camera.
So maybe a Ziploc freezer bag is in order too
If you can get one, I'd suggest getting a 5-in-1 diffuser for reflecting light on the group shots. Using the natural power of sunlight with a reflector brings out the best in pictures.
All the advice given by the others is right on the money, too.
