Here is an example of a two image photo stacking using a Nikkor 105 2.8 AI version Macro,, Tripod, Mirror up, remote cable
Frozen in Time....
I Shot the primary plane to be the watch face, and take a look how sharp the 105 lens is! not bad for a 15 year old piece of glass, How much sharper would be a new
Nikkor 105 VR,, well, first on tripod, the VR would be off, so it would be glass vs glass, and the gain would be very incremental.
I wanted enough sharpness of the top layer to for the eye to recognize, but not to lock onto,, so,, the viewer would get right away that it is frozen in a ice,, but would be more drawn to the watch face as the primary subject, still had to be a two stacked image, otherwise the ice lines would be totally blurry with a macro dof,
also, the ice,, is actually a shattered mirror.. for those that want to know the setup.
