Aloha everyone. Bob from Honolulu here.
The Christmas season and the recent price drops conspired to "make me" purchase a new D5100 with both the kit 18-55vr and a 35mm f/1.8 DX to replace my aging D80. Of course this made me renew my interest in Nikon related forums and...well...here I am.
I've been playing around with cameras since 1990 when, as an older (32 at the time - not old, but not 18-22) returning college student, I took photography 101 to fulfill an art requirement outside my major. The bug bit and while I can't say I've been an avid shutterbug since that time, I have had runs at it and enjoy it a lot when I put in the time. And, to be any good at this (or anything else) it does take practice!
