I'm Jim from Scotland

I bought a D3100 last year to replace my Canon 400D which I just did not "take to"

I haven't been out with it much so far but that's changing this year
I have the stock 18-55 VR lens and the 55-200 lens but I'm looking at going for the 55-300 VR lens as I've read some great things about it and we have some wild deer here that I want to photograph and the 300mm will be useful

Hope to be posting some really dumb questions soon.

Jim, welcome to the forum... I have 5100 with the same lens as you and I recently grabbed the 55-300 for wildlife. Works great.
