Looks like these will carry a new name DL

Nikon DL is the name of the new compact cameras line with 1" sensor | Nikon Rumors

Watching with interest on the 24-500 on a 1 inch sensor,i have the V2 but can only get a 300mm lens for that and its not long enough.

I've alway been surprised they just don't have a full size dslr with a tiny 20mp sensor. You can use all your lens (only using the sweet spot) and get a monster crop factor.

The DL24-500 release date was supposed to be this early summer but it has no firm delivery date because of problems. Nikon says there is NO delivery date available at this time.
