Enable the "Remote Control Mode" option in the Shooting menu, or the Information display button. But can't get it to work, What settings do I need to apply to make it work? Paul
Yes. Yes, I do.Do you have supernatural powers!
You're welcome.Again THANK YOU for solving my puzzle.
That I'm not sure about. For some reason that sounds right, but I'm not all that familiar with the D3300.One thing I noticed though, is that I need to set the Quick response remote setting each time I take a photo. Is that how it works?
A vid to help you out Pay attention to what she is saying LOL

as Paul has said you need to enable it, and remember the IR receiver is on the front (On the handgrip) of the D series bodies so you need to have this in front pointing back to the camera for it to work
My D3200 has a sensor on the front, where you indicate, and another on the back, near the upper left corner. As a result, it can respond to an IR remote in front of it, or behind it. I doubt if the D3300 differs in this respect.

Both sides work just fine on my D3200.You are correct however I could never get my D3300 to fire from the back, not sure if it was just a dodgy IR, but the front worked fine, back a no go
