For those of you who like to shoot the Moon, this Saturday, March 19 the moon will be full and at it's closest point to the Earth in 18 years. It will be a mere 356,577 Kilometers away and is called a lunar perigee. If you have a favorite spot to shoot a moon rise or moon set this is probably the time to get your best shots, as long as the weather cooperates. Miss it and you will have to wait for about another 18 years. You can use the Photographer's Ephemeris to find the exact horizon location for the rise and set from your location.
