Time to invent a new word for it. The Japanese for blurry background is Boyaketa Haikei according to Google Translate (which is bound to be grammatically correct, right?). Use one word from the translation, add it to the Wikipedia Bokeh page as the actual word for said effect and a new word is born (that everyone will pronounce incorrectly)I think you are right, but I still refuse to equate a blurry background with bokeh...
