Luisi's Best Photos

I will be posting what I consider to be the best photos that I have taken since I got my Nikon D7000. Every photo posted to this thread will be taken with that camera unless I say otherwise in the post. Each of the photos posted here are either already part of my portfolio site on Coroflot.com (http://www.coroflot.com/kluisi) or I am posting it here for opinions on whether it is good enough to be posted there.

I am hoping that by posting these photographs, that I can get some feedback from the more experienced photographers on this site so that I can continue to improve. I am looking for a few different bits of advice for each photograph: First, do you think they are worthy of being included in my online portfolio. Second, are there any post processing improvements that you see for any of the photos. Third, what could I have done differently when taking the photo to make it better straight out of the camera.

Thanks in advance. I have 58 photographs currently on my site. I will try to post 5-10 related photos a day until they are all posted (rather than posting all of them at once).

Thanks everyone for taking the time to check them out and give me any tips and/or pointers.

- Kris

How would you have cropped it? More? Less? Just differently? Thanks. This was one of my favorites of the whole bunch too. I thought it really worked in B&W.

Jefferson memorial: it would have been more interesting if the "focused building" had a blurred (out of focus) branch with buds in the foreground...

Thanks for the edit on Tyler. Looks to me like you cropped it a little closer, then added a Radial Gradient with some outside darkening and lowered clarity. Did catch everything, or did you also make any other changes?

As for the Jefferson, I definitely think it could have used something in the forground to add interest there, but I thought the sky and colors (I think this was a golden hour photo) made it look almost like a painting rather than a photograph. I think that's what I liked so much about it.

Yes, I too think the Jeff is fine as it is. I only thought you could have taken the "reverse photo" and have a sort of "flowers-in-focus+blurred building vs blurred flowers+building-in-focus" tandem...:)

Kind of:
