Here I am trying to learn some off camera flash techniques. I was going for low key lighting.

I think I am going to re-edit this photo when I get off work. Apples are a little dark for my taste while viewing it from a different monitor.

​Yes, the low key lighting is really low

Here is the retry. I think it is a little more pleasing. Not really sure what I was thinking when I did the edits on this last night. now to work on todays photos.

It was a lazy Sunday around the house so I tried to shoot my son, but he was having none of it and hid under a blanket. On to my next model, the dog.

The depth of field is very shallow on this one, nose and ears already have lost sharpness. Where it works well on the body I seem to miss some face. One stop up?

Yeah I could have taken a couple more shots with the DOF wider, but I liked this one. Brought the focus to the eyes.

was wondering if there was a way to diffuse the light more at the bottom of this one. I really like the rest of the picture, but the ring of light at the bottom is an anti-climax for me. (some well cut cooking paper in the bottom?)

That would have been an elegantly simple solution.

Here is a pic from the first. nothing to show for the second. working today's right now.
