Last week I purchased a course from Creative Live called The Absolute Power of Blend If and wondered if anyone has ever used those sliders for tweaking edits? https://www.creativelive.com/class/the-absolute-power-of-blend-if-blake-rudis?via=site-header_0
It's a different way of masking - and not all edits even require a layer mask. For example, he shows noise reduction being applied globally then went in and targeted only the shadowed areas masking out the highlights and midtones without making a layer mask. And he did the same type of thing for sharpening globally before masking out the shadow areas so only the midtones and highlights receive it. But he did incorporate layer masks for other edits when using the Blend If sliders. He also incorporates something similar in his Luminosity Masking class.
Just wondering if anyone has delved into this type of editing.
