So I can update or install Lightroom CC and still have the Lightroom Classic installed on my computer? Same with Photoshop 2018 and it keeps 2017 intact?
I have both Lightroom CC and Lightroom Classic CC installed, so yes for sure there. I also have Photoshop CC 2015, CC 2017, and CC 2018 all installed as well, at least on my Mac Pro desktop machine. I think my MacBook Pro is a little cleaner, but still has both Lightroom installs.
Yes, as Charlie said. Here are the programs as they are listed in my Start menu. Looks like I didn't install one of the Lightroom versions, but I don't use it anyway. I prefer accessing Camera RAW through PCC. Camera RAW has the same tools as Lightroom but doesn't have the cataloging feature that LR offers.
The only PCC problem I've encountered is with the DXO Mark version of the Nik Collection. I shouldn't have installed DXO Mark Nik Collection because it disabled the Google Nik Collection that I had in the older PCC versions. And there wasn't anything wrong with the Google Nik Collection--I just figured the DXO Mark version would work well with the newer version of PCC.
Now if I want to use the Nik Collection, I
have to use PCC 2018 because it is greyed out in the older versions. I don't have any other plug-ins installed. Charlie, do you have other plug-ins installed in all versions of PCC and/or Lightroom? If so, did you encounter any problems having them installed in more than one Adobe version?
