Exif data wrong

I bought a refurbished D7100, and the date on the exif data is 2 years off. Is there any way I can change this in camera? I know how to update it in LR, but it would be nice if it came out of the camera correct and I didn't have to fix the file every time. Thanks.

That's probably the reason the camera was returned and run back out thru the re-furb program. Nikon didn't know why the camera was returned, and didn't know what specifically to check/fix... There are probably other issues you'll discover...

I discovered a similarly obscure issue with a lens that I know never worked correctly, and just ended up paying to get it fixed outside of the Nikon refurb warranty period...

If you're within the Refurb warranty period, it'll be best to return it now rather than wait for other issues to appear that are more critical...

So, I posted a picture on the D7100 picture thread and I noticed the date was wrong on the exif data by 2 years 2013 vs 2015. I grabbed the camera and looked at the settings and noticed the date was correct (2015). But, my dumbass grabbed the D750 instead, which had the correct date. They were sitting next to eachother because I had been doing some comparison shots. After actually looking at the D7100, it has the wrong year (2013). I fixed it, all seems to be well now.

Sorry for the diversion. I will go extract my head from my anus now.

I think you are in good company. At least in my case. Ha! We all have one of those moments every now and again. Never fear though, it only gets worse as you gain years. Ha!
