Nikon D750

Have not seen any postings about the Nikon D750.

1. Is it as great as the "camera of the year"?

2. Flare/banding issues, real or made up?

3. Those shooting sports where lights some times are in the background, any problems?

Thanks,

Search and you will find several threads about the D750 on this forum. The banding issue from flare has been discussed ad nausium. It is real, but does not seem to happen in all D750s, and it only happens under very certain lighting conditions. From everything I have read, most people love the D750.

It's not the "Camera of the Year"... just because some random person on the internet called it that.
The flaring happens, random and not on every camera.
Rent one for yourself or try it out at your local camera shop.

I don't know if it is the camera of the year since I didn't shoot all that are released but it is my camera of the year for sure.

The flare issue is real but requires more work causing it than it takes to avoid it. Lens-hood for the win.

I don't shoot sports but I shoot against the sun quite often and besides the normal flare that every cam/lens suffers when the light hits it wrong, you can shoot without any issue. Shots where the flare issue shows up are lost shots with or without that problem. It can happen but again, it's easier to make it not happen.

I shot this one today with the sun dead center. A very pretty flare which I never managed before. But as you see, the D750 didn't fall apart while shooting against the light. This isn't the cam malfunctioning. I'd say this requires skill were it not purely luck. ;)
