Most importantly, if you ever have to send your camera to Nikon for repair they will immediately send you out a loaner camera to use while yours is being serviced. Secondly, the membership is free. The only downside is you have to be "nominated" for membership by a current member of NPS. In addition, you must also own at least 2 "pro" level bodies (whatever that means) and 2 or 3 (can't remember now) "pro" level lenses.

Oh, I didn't notice the "user" portion. I was speaking only about NPS, until today I had never heard of a "users" version of NPS.

I believe this is a European implementation of the Nikon Professional Services package available in the states. My understanding is that it's far less restrictive (i.e. one "pro body" last I checked).

Thank you
The NPU scheme sounds easy to get into but with few benefits apart from possibly the tech support helpline. The NPS sounds very useful, but is restricted to full-time pros only.

I was very interested in NPS here in the US, but having to be fully pro excludes me even if I had the required gear. I have two D300 pro Nikon's and I believe the Nikkor AF 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6 ed lens would qualify as one pro lens. I guess it doesn't matter.
