Thoughts on this composition?

I really like this composition, especially the balance it has but not sure if it's something anyone else would find interesting. So I'm posting here to get thoughts on it. Also, I'm perplexed as to what title to give this, any ideas?
TIA

I like how the guy on the surfboard is framed by the contrast in the sky and on the beach. Good job keeping him under the horizon also! I'm not sure how I feel about the dog.

Dave, I like the comp (but what does a rookie know). What would I do different?? I assume that is a surfer... and I would maybe have moved him left slightly (enough to bring the dog all in and the surfer left of center .. ) That assumes it was a crop and you could shift some.. Title.. "Waiting" or "Mans Best Friend"

What I like about this image is how out of place the dog is and how it throws a bit of surprise into the mix. Btw, the shot has not been cropped at all, this was the whole frame and it was taken specifically to capture the dog in the frame with the surfer in focus. Looking at it after the fact, I found that I like the balance between the clouds vs. the dog half with the paddle surfer between the two. But that's just me and the reason I posted it was to see if anyone liked the strange mix of the surfer vs. the dog. I guess on one hand I can say it works and on the other I can see perhaps that it doesn't work so well. But hey, that's what trial and error is about, eh?

Dave, I think it works... I was not sure if it was cropped, my only reason to comment was if it had been cropped.. I also liked the cloud effect..

Love the unusualness of it ! There's this unwritten law of distractions from the subject, but who cares about laws . It works for me. Cant think of a title but i would straighten up that horizon, as for me, thats the only distraction in a wonderful compo, and the mono conversion helps make it IMO

The first thing that I see is the the surfer is centered both vertically and horizontally in the image. I also find the dog a distraction, if the surfer is the main subject. I would crop it just above the dog and also vertically to give more space to the left og the surfer.
