A couple shots from a newbie

I just picked up my D5300 last Wednesday. It's my first dSLR and I decided to take it out for a spin at the Great Falls National Historic Site in Paterson, NJ. Let me know your thoughts.

I will give you my thoughts for what they are worth. In order of ranking I would say
1) The abandoned building with graffiti
2) The Waterfall and Bridge in Sepia
3) The colorized version

I think your strongest composition wise was the building, I think it is framed nicely and tells a story, I think the Sepia would look better as a Black and White, and the third is Muddled both top and bottom giving you an weird Horizontal focus/Color confusion.

But that is Me. ( My opinions are my own, and do not reflect any semblance of authority ) ;)

Thanks, pk. That is probably my order of preference as well. The sepia was only chosen because my wife grew up in the town and has been looking for old pictures of Paterson for years which I have not been able to find. I went with the choice for that purpose. The muddle color photo of the falls was the result of an attempt to play with the shutter speed to create motion blur on the water.
