First photoshoot with a model

A little back story: I'm attending a rally (drive from Minneapolis to Chicago with exotic cars) and it was my turn to have my vehicle shot. I get there with my Range Rover and there is a Porsche and BMW to be shot with me. Our photographer shows and grabs some pics at two locations, but has to leave for his family. The guys putting the rally on want more pictures, I mention I have my gear in the trunk (D7100 and a few choice lenses with my mafroto tripod).

I was absolutely not expecting to take pictures, and have NEVER shot with a model before. SO it was a great learning experience. I'd like your feedback and constructive critiques about my photos.

The intent with these were: natural lighting (not really natural, just no external flash) and show off the cars/sponsor decals.

I just picked up the D7100 a couple of days ago, and I'm absolutely stoked to shoot with it. It's such a pleasure.

After uploading the photos, they appear very noisy on my screen here. They don't appear that way in lightroom.

very nice considering you weren't planing to shoot and you were new with the camera. The real question is how did the client you were shooting for like them? How did they compare with the photos shot by the first photographer?

I don't have the other shots to compare yet, as they were shot last night.

The client seemed extremely pleased, as am I. I just want to hear about the quality because I'd love to shoot something like this again; and I love learning.

Well I'm a beginner so my opinion doesn't count for much but to me the shots are well done. Detailed, good DoF, I especially like the driver-side window shots. Though the composition of the fifth shot is a bit awkward.

Just a curious question... it looks as if the models disrobed for the window shots? Was that awkward on an impromptu shot? LOL

Other than that, it looks like you did quite well for shooting with no warning!

Maybe I'm just not into post processing (Spent about 4 hours editing those 6 photos). I would much prefer a more natural edit. But I have recieved feedback saying the model is being visually drowned out by the car, so I could absolutely see the appeal there. As a car guy, I love seeing both!

They both were happy to disrobe. We were all very excited for those shots. That being said, the first model didn't look very comfortable in her facial expressions. Maybe it was the 4 hours of shooting previous to these shots just wearing her out. By the time I got to shooting the blonde, the rum had been broken into and everybody was super giggly and loving it.

Not knocking your Post..It takes time to train the eye...Did you shoot Raw? If I had the raw I could push the image further and give you the edited that would knock your socks off..LMK
The images themselves are not terrible..I see the potential they can have with further Post..

I literally bought the camera Thursday (Exchanged one I bought Wednesday which was defective) and didn't have time to touch it with classes and everything. I appreciate your effort. I received 0 compensation for this shoot, so I'm not too concerned, but I would like to know what to focus on for future reference.
