Simple subject, original composition, great shades of red…

Congratulations HF, a perfect take in my book!

Do it again!

Great capture. The only thing I might do to it would be to warp it or crop it so the roof top is parallel to the top of the picture.

I thought the same thing, but here's the weirdness. Below is a screen capture of the shot with Photoshops "Crop Tool" overlaying.

The roof IS parallel:

I am probably unqualified to critique, but I noticed that from top of sky to top of roof and then to the top of the cloth covering is nearly equidistant. That symmetry clashes with whats below the cloth covering.
My only suggestion would be to reduce the sky by a third. That would restore negative space and increase the dichotmy of balance.

Excellent!! Awesome image, Paul. The only thing I can add is that I would convince myself that pulling some of the detail in the shadows in the corners wouldn't make it a more compelling image but other than that experiment I think it's as close to perfect as they come!! Beautiful!

Wow! A real shock to the system on slowly discovering the photo. However, great detail on the building in spite of the bright blue sky. Great composition!

There is no doubt in my mind, Paul, that
"no one has ever succeeded to please everybody AND the mother-in-law"!

Have a good time!

Hey Paul, …just thought of it! I have a JJ Kale album with a name like that: "Escondido"!

And where are the takes of Escondido Walkabout #1 and Escondido Walkabout #2?

I actually like that suggestion. Thank you. I'm back on forth on the crop but the more I look at taking some off the top, the more I think you're on to something.

Wow! That's pretty high-praise coming from you, Dave. Thank you.

I'm not sure what this means but thank you for the comments that followed.

Well, photos DO exist... I'll go through them again and see if I find anything worth posting up for feedback. There's some good ones in there, I think but the one above kinda wow'ed me. It's one of the few times the shot I got out of the camera has matched the shot I had in my head perfectly.

Thanks to everyone who responded... I really appreciate everyone's input.
