My favourite photos with my D5100. So far...

Hi all,

This is my favourite photo I've taken with my D5100 since getting it last October.
I like the shadows from the lighting on the opera house, and the trails from the boat give it some movement.

Just wanted to stick it here and get some comments on what other people think, good and bad!

Settings:
Device: Nikon D5100
Lens: VR 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6G
Focal Length: 55mm
Aperture: F/16
Shutter Speed: 30s
Exposure Comp.: -0.3EV
ISO Sensitivity: ISO 100

The only thing I would suggest is a little more exposure. If you shot in RAW then you can go back and bump it up just a little. Just enough to not lose detail in the white but allow you to see the rest of the building tips.

I like this shot and if five people respond there is a good possibility that you will get five different answers. My suggestion would be to make adjustments with the Highlights and Shadows sliders which can be found in Photoshop under Images-Adjustments- Shadows and highlights. This will allow you to bring out some of the shadows without blowing out the lighter areas. I still think this is a very nice picture and a job well done but I think could benefit from the adjustments I mention above. Give it a try and see what you think.

Thanks for the advice guys, I've done a side by side!
1st is "original" posted above
2nd is adding back in the -0.3EV I had set in the camera (a tip I picked up somewhere...)
3rd is using the D-Lighting HS setting in ViewNX2.

I think I prefer the EV adjust of the two, but I need to stare at them a bit longer to think whether I prefer it over the original!
Not sure about the sail appearing in the middle of the shot...

I guess it is just me but I don't see very little difference between the three.
