    Pastel Posies

    Pastel Posies
Pastel Posies-850_3848-4-.jpg-reddit.jpg How bout a critique on this. Pretty much as it came out of the camera except removed a wire that was in the bottom right corner. I'd appreciate any and all comments. Thanks.

Plenty of pleasing colours and textures to admire. There is a couple of minor things that come to mind. Firstly the main flower looks a touch over exposed in the centre, however it is a very difficult scene with the other flowers centre not in direct light, therefore you probably couldn't adjust the exposure. That in mind, my only other thought is that the overall scene is slightly busy and had you only had the one flower in the frame then exposure might have been easier. That said I still like it a lot

Thank you for the feedback Pete. Yeah I agree on the center being over exposed but not sure how I could fix it without affecting other areas. I'm not a lightroom/photoshop user.

I agree with Peter. It's a very nice subject, but those center whites look blown out.

If you don't do any post processing, try: 1. see if you are getting blinkies in camera when you review the shot, and adjust accordingly. 2. read the histogram and if it says there's a blown out area...adjust accordingly. 3. Spot meter off the brightest part of the scene, and hope the rest of it isn't under-exposed. 4. Maybe learn to post process? That D850 captures an awful lot of info that would be an absolute joy to manipulate in Lightroom, et all.

(BTW, how did you "remove a wire" if you're not a Lightroom/PS user?)
                            Fiat lux. Fiat vox.

I use Faststone image viewer and Photoscape X, Photoscape was used to remove the wire.

I, too, like the color scene of the whole image. As for exposure adjustment, you may consider using Nik collection's control-point (localize) tool to make a specific area or spot adjustment for that purpose. Good job and GL.
