The Blackrapid wrist strap is on my gripped D7100 99% of the time. I love their gear.I use a Blackrapid strap most of the time, but sometimes it can get in the way like when shooting landscapes, so what other detachable small straps would you recommend?
My wife found this home made maker of designer straps in the town where my daughter lives, we actually went to her home / studio and had a very nice visit. Everything is handmade in Okotoks, Alberta. We have several of her straps.

I have her harness and some neck straps and a wrist straps - fine handmade craftsmanship.
I also use a speedcarry for my 200-500.
I love those guitar straps. :encouragement:
I use a Black Rapid sling strap, one of the first they released a long time ago that had the magnetic closure pockets and also a hand strap that stays on all my cameras. It allows secure holding of a heavy camera/lens during long events without having to tighten finger pressure to hold securely, allowing 1 hand shooting with a 70-200 2.8 . I leave the strap loose enough to instantly slip my hand into it when the camera is on the sling hanging at my side and bring up to my eye in a quick single motion. The tripod mount can be used also, but I seldom use a tripod except for night architecture shooting.
When my hand is in the loose hand strap, barely flexing the large joints of the fingers creates a wedge that locks the camera rigidly held with almost no finger pressure. Relaxed fingers don't get tired in a 9-10 hour wedding or event.

That is a fastener from Black Rapid for attaching the sling strap to the foot when using the strap, that is the connection point. The whole camera and lens combination is supported by that ring. Depending on which threaded hole it is screwed into, the D800 and 70-200 hangs by my side with the combination parallel to the ground or lens pointed down.Spb stan what it that fitting screwed onto the lens foot?
