Padded Tripod Bag

Since I put so much into my tripods and ball heads I was picky about getting a good padded case for each to protect them. They were on sale for $10 off, and that convinced me to buy them right away! :)
Even though they went back to regular price, I wanted to say they are pretty great bags and I think they are worth buying if you need a good padded tripod bag! They are Slinger brand, and this is my first experience with this brand.

This bag is fully padded except directly under the zipper, which is only about 1/8 inch so I can live with that slight down side. The material is no fuzzy as it looks in the photos, but more like canvas or heavy Jean material, and the zipper is water resistant, which I really like and I imagine the material should also be water resistant.

But be sure if you go to buy one to measure your tripod first. It fits my tripods with the ball head on them perfectly, and would have been an issue had my tripod had been longer by an inch or two. But they do have a bigger version of the same bag in case you need more room. :)

All in all I am pleased in mine with no complaints so far at all.:)

Looks like a very good tripod bag Bill,

I have a manfrotto tripod bag, but it's not full padded.

PS. The one thing I did wrong is in waiting so long to buy good tripod cases. The better quality your tripod is, the more urgent getting a protective case should be. @hark Cindy brought it more to my attention, as buying high dollar equipment was getting the most attention before and as my money became much lower Cindy called my attention to protecting my tripods. So unless I want to risk needing a replacement tripods, I shouldn't ignore protecting my awesome tripods and ball heads.

So I want to pass on this advice to you tripod users! You can get a pretty great protective tripod case to protect your tripod, and it is worth doing even for tripods that don't cost an arm and a leg. This hobby is so costly, that protecting your gear should be a top priority. I knew that for my Nikon's, but it took a reminder from a friend that tripods and ball heads need protecting too.

This case I posted about is well worth buying, but I am not pushing it. Just find a case that fits your budget, but I highly recommend you buy a padded version like I did to protect your tripod too. :)

I think you once mentioned wanting to get some type of tripod bags so I suggested you look at padded ones. One of the benefits of padded bags is when carrying heavy tripods or carrying them for long periods of time, the padded bags are more comfortable against your back. I have a padded Manfrotto bag. It was expensive but is very comfortable. Even the bag's strap is fully padded. There is a huge difference between the Manfrotto bag compared with just a tripod strap that fastens directly to the tripod. I also have one of those for my heavy Manfrotto tripod. The strap has a rubber piece that sits on the shoulder but is no where near as comfortable as the padded strap that comes on the Manfrotto bag.

That older Manfrotto tripod with just a strap weighs a whopping 10 pounds with its head. Having that bang against my back while walking isn't the most comfortable thing. However, the padded Manfrotto bag holds my Gitzo tripod (with a Manfrotto head). Not nearly as heavy and much more comfortable to carry with the padded bag. :)
