Camera bag recommendation.

Hello!

I need some help with suggestions about a good camera bag to buy. I will need a bag that could easily fit a D5300 with battery grip, a D7200 with battery grip, a Tamron 10-24mm, a Nikon 18-300mm and a Nikon 200-500mm. Do any of you have any recommendations for me? I may need it for carry-on on aircraft as well. Thank you!

I would look into think tank, they have a bag geared towards the professional photographer that needs to travel with multiple bodies. The one IIRC is a convertible type where you can compress the bag as well.

I got a vertex AW300 for a trip to the states last year. It's right on the limit for size, although it's often weight that causes the issue on aircraft. Fortunately for my trip I had an 18kg allowance but 10kg is more common over here in the uk. For my trip it was about 14kg loaded.

I mainly use it to store gear now as I generally don't take everything out with me. Equally if you want a grab everything and go bag this will do the trick.

Another vote for Think Tank...Awesome bags !! I would think the Restrospective 40 or 50 might suit your needs...I have the 20 & 40...

Thank you all for your kind comments and recommendations! I will definitely look at each one carefully and decide. As far as carry-on for aircraft, I've never had issues with them. I exclusively fly Japanese long-haul carriers and I've been able to carry quite a bit on board and they allow camera bags in addition to a personal bag on board without penalties.

Another vote for the Think Tank Retrospective 50. I bought one last year to accommodate two gripped bodies (my other Tamrac bags won't). Here's a shot of all the stuff I crammed into the bag for an event I was shooting...2 bodies, 5 lenses (trinity plus 2 primes) and 2 flashes. Pretty sure my 200-500 will fit if I left out some of the other lenses.

ThinkTank, LowePro and Pelican are each great bags and should have an offering to suit your needs.

Another option is to couple the Pelican padded divider set for the 1510/1514 with a piece of regular soft-sided luggage that matches its size. My rolling camera bag doesn't scream that it has expensive photo gear, instead looking as though it is just filled with clothes, or whatever.

My only beef with a lot of the bags is that the interiors are made of dark material which makes it hard to find some small items in all but the best lighting conditions. Ape Case uses yellow for the interior of its cases, which is a move that could be utilized by others to good effect, IMO.

I use a Tamrac Pro 12 bag for home as its pretty big. Travel I use the Tamrac pro 6. Equally deep for gripped cameras but more compact.
