Hi guys, I want to try to light an evergreen tree in the middle of a forest however I don't know how I would be able to power the lights when not near any power.

Are there any ideas, car battery to AC wall plug jacks or other ideas that I could use to accomplish this?

Thanks,

Pan

You could hire a small generator from your local hire shop.

Or a 12 volt to mains convertor, which could be picked up from any good electrical shop or amazon, ebay.

oh god-- i just googled this and I'm seeing a lot of electrical numbers and figures ... I don't want to start a forest fire in winter hehe-- is there a specific voltage wattage or AC DC that I will need? I don't know what all these numbers mean sadly...

You ave many options. You could get a car battery and hook up an inverter to get your 120v. You could use a generator. You could also use a battery pack for strobes that have 120v outlets. The easiest to me would be to rent a very small lightweight generator.

I don't know if they exist for what you have in mind but LED lights require less power and won't set the tree on fire.

If you are talking of Christmas tree lights, I'm thinking best option is to use regular 120vac light strings and rent a generator.

They do make 12vdc Christmas lights, but they are smaller and to light a large tree may take more juice = more batteries = more weight = more friends helping and more beer/eggnog.

J-see I'm not worried about lights setting the tree on fire lol-- just me and a battery with live wires HAHA!
@Eyelight yeah, I was thinking Christmas lights and a star for the top.

If you don't mind the noise. The Genny would be an easy plug and play option.

Need pictures when ya done. Maybe from a vantage point high and wide. Would be cool.
