nero trigger

There has been a few questions regarding the Nero Trigger. Well I have been using mine mostly for lightning and if you can guess from my shots it really hasn't let me down.

The hot shoe connection is 'dodgy' I must admit but it slides on and off quite easily if you apply even force.

The settings are very easy to navigate.

Lightning sensitivity can be set from very easily.

Some have complained about the connectors but I find them up to the task.

I'd like to get one of those.... before I go to the Keys in June.

Then again, there's not much out there that I don't want!!!

I am wanting one too but winter in NE does not yield much.... I will probably hold off until I move south where the lighting frequency is much greater... (unless a sale comes along!) :)

I just got this email from Jonathan.

Date: 7th April, 2014

When you get a chance will you please let the inmates know that the free Nero replacement trigger arrived today and works with both the original and new cables. The original unit does not work with either and is now in the bin. Nero replaced immediately and with no questions asked. For what it's worth the old unit has a red facia, the new one has a black facia.

Thanks mate.

I'm assuming this device triggers your camera when lightning strikes? If so than yes, I could probably
put it to use.
Nero trigger has these modes.

[h=3]Lightning Mode[/h][h=3]Sound Mode[/h][h=3]Time Lapse Mode[/h][h=3]Laser Mode[/h][h=3]HDR Mode[/h][h=3]DIY Mode[/h]

Just curious, but do you know if this will work with the cables from the Vello trigger units? Basically just an 1/8" two-ring (i.e. stereo) jack to camera jack, right? I can't see coughing up $15-20 for an extra cable so I can use it on both the D800 and D600 if I have one already.

I have no idea if it would work, you could give it a go.

Re: nero trigger, DIY

Has anyone used the DIY input with anything other than a simple dry contact? The web site is way to vague on how to use it and I don't want to blow up the unit. I contacted them via the web site for a partial schematic of the DIY input but have not yet gotten a reply. Today is the second time I've asked.I've also used the Vello cables for the D200 and D7100 with the Nero Trigger. They seem fully compatible and are very well made.By the way, if you want to extend the 3.5mm cable for the flash or 2.5mm cable for the camera go to monoprice.com for cables. They are fast, cheap and very good quality. I was also able to get a spare USB cable for the D7100 and a standard USB extension cable. They even sell a ML-L3 IR trigger knockoff which works fine. I have no connection with monoprice except for being a customer.Jim
