Well I should be getting my D7100 in the next month and will be carrying both the D5100 with a 18-105 or the 55-300 lens and the D7100 with the 150-500 lens for birds and wildlife. I'm just wondering what I should get for a second strap I have a black rapid now????

for two cameras i like the cotton carrier system. Long lens on the chest and other on the hip.

I was thinking of the cotton carrier for the hip for the small lens but I need my hand on the long lens so the black rapid fits the bill there. My birding is a walk so milli seconds count I tried the chest pack out today its a no go for me

If you're going to have a backpack... you should look at the cotton carrier adapter that attaches to an existing backpack strap. I'm sort of looking at that since I always seem to have a backpack on.

the few times i carried two cameras, i had my D60 18-105 on my BR strap and my D7000 55-300 on my tripod, it was easy and light enough to take about .

When I was healthy I carried two cameras D800 with 24-120VR 0r 16-35VR kept that in my Lowepro backpack - D4 with the 300mmF4(later the 80-400VR) on a shoulder strap(regular Nikon Strap) or mounted on my "mono pod" Why two cameras? I hate changing glass in the field.

After carrying two FX cameras, f2.8 zoom lenses plus speedlight last night during an event, the cotton carrier is starting to sound like a better option for me.
