I don't know much about that camera, but I would check on the firmware and see if there's a limit that the camera can take (as far as card size). Given the age there might be a chance that it can't handle a card over 16GB or 32GB, etc. Just a thought.
As for brands I usually stick with SanDisk and Lexar.
