MeFOTO Trave Tripod/Monopod

After posting about this in another thread I realized I hadn't mentioned an acquisition I made a couple months ago - a MeFOTO Road Trip travel tripod. I was looking for something small and lightweight to take out on a (since cancelled) trip to California that would easily strap to my bag or go over my shoulder, and also fit in my carry-on luggage on the plane. These had just come out and I had the opportunity to check one out when B&H brought one to the Kelby seminar I attended. Not a featherweight at 3.6 lbs for titanium (shave a pound and spend more for carbon fiber), but nothing that's going to break my back. It folds down to 15" and extends far enough that my 6' frame is not hunching over at full extension. Legs go to 2 positions, one for full extension and one for "almost on the ground". It's pretty darn stable in most conditions, even with the top tube extended, and there's a hook on the bottom so you can hang your bag there for some added stability. Best thing is, you can remove one leg and convert it into a monopod, so you get a two-for-one in your suitcase. Ball head is included and has an Arca-Swiss mount. And it fits in my Harley's saddle bag!!

If weight isn't a factor (4.6 lbs), at $209 the Globetrotter is capable of holding over 25 lbs, and folds to about 16". It could almost qualify as the only tripod (and monopod) you'd ever need - provided you're not over 6 feet.

And for the curious, as a monopod it extends to a length beyond what my 6' height can handle.

This is exactly like like my Diat tripod, same package but mine is carbon fibre, they're surprisingly good for the money you pay. I love mine to bits! I've come to the conclusion that Diat, Benro, Coman, Beike, Horusbennu, Giottos, Detai and Triopo are all the exact same product, but branded differently and with different colored bits. Look them up on eBay, they're all almost identical!

And yeah, looks like the carbon fiber one is $329 where the aluminum (according to description it's not titanium?) is $189. That's a big difference for half a pound!

Yeah, my bad on the original description - I must have picked up on "titanium blue" looking for the material. And yeah, it's a chunk of change for the reduced weight. I can't see it for the smaller ones, but perhaps for the Globetrotter. I guess it all depends how much weight you already carry and how far you're lugging it.
