This is what happens when you drop a 15inch MBP from chest height on to concrete. Now do that to a plastic windows laptop ;)

Most importantly the last OS X upgrade cost a princely sum of $19 the last Windows upgrade was over $100 depending on what version you were getting... Macs also last longer... and end up being cheaper as a result for the owner. I am still using the same Mac Book Pro I purchased in 2008 and my desktop is a Power Mac G5 that was purchased in 2005 soon though, but at a replacement cost of $5000 I try to get all the use I can out of the computer.

Cute pictures. Though, a "plastic" bodied laptop such as a T series from Lenovo can most likely withstand more punishment. I used to sell them for a living so trust me, they are built like tanks and your cute little pictures prove nothing. Get your Mac to do this:

You are aware with SSD technology falls are irrelevant as to whether or not the integrity of the HDD is maintained since HDD's are a thing of the past. Just as an aside Those Lenovos in a very real rubber meets the road sense don't hold up all that well and neither do the Dell ATG series. Not that bad, but not that great either. If I am worried about abuse its still a Toughbook that wins the contest. I managed an IT department and was responsible for overseeing the repair of Thinkpads, then Toughbooks and finally Dell Latitudes of various flavors, we also had Apples. Of the three previously mentioned Windows based systems for durability the Panasonic was the hands down winner and had to be serviced less often due to abuse. All three systems had to be dealt with more frequently than any Apple owned by IS on a day to day basis because Windows is just not as stable and more prone to problems. The users who were issued Apples rarely if ever had to have parts replaced or service due to abuse because they cared for their systems better and as a day to day matter were less problematic for users from an OS and software support standpoint.
