    Problem with my WiFi adaptability.

Hi, I'm still learning to use my Nikon D5200. I have been trying to connect my android phone to the WU-1a. I followed every instruction, but my phone (Samsung S9+) won't connect to the WiFi - the WiFi keeps disconnecting and doesn't establish a connection. Can somebody help me out?

Do you have the “Wireless Mobile Adapter Utility” (WMU for short) app on your phone? Here are directions on how to sync with Wifi. Scroll almost halfway down the page for directions.

    Welcome aboard. Enjoy the ride.
We look forward to seeing more posts and samples of your work.

I don't do WiFi with my camera so can't help you. But hopefully Cindy's suggestion will help.

Hi, yes I do have the app on my phone. But the wifi doesn't get connected to my phone, so the camera doesn't get connected.

There are many frustrations with the Nikon app. Make sure you have airplane mode disabled on your camera. Also, I have found that my camera and phone communicate better if the menu screen is illuminated on the camera, just tap the menu button. If you have multiple camera bodies, put the others in another room so there is no chance of interference. It might help when not connecting to turn the camera off and force close the app, then wait 30 seconds and turn the camera back on and start the app up again and make sure the screen on the back of the camera stays on. There are a few generations of the app, I believe the 5200 uses the WMU which was so buggy, I hated using it. Their newer app called Snapbridge is better, but still not perfect. Snapbridge is only compatible with newer bodies though. Hope this helps.
