Hurricane Dorian

I hope everyone in the path of Hurricane Dorian is able to remain in place safely or evacuate to a safer location.

Marilynne, if you're still in Delray Beach, you have a lower forecast probability of being directly hit by the storm; but it's a forecast, not a directive to the storm. And you're still likely to feel the impact of the storm. I'm hoping for the best for you!

Who else is living or visiting peninsular Florida and could be impacted by this storm?

As for me, I'm out in West Florida, about 30-40 miles east of Pensacola and we're watching the forecast and track of this storm without alarm, just concern, for now. (I do have children living in Gainesville and attending the University of Florida. I'm waiting to hear from them their plans for the storm. As of last night, they were going to reamain in place since their residence is a heavily reinforced concrete block structure and it appears that the storm might be greatly diminished in intensity if it hits that area.

Stay safe, good people!

Thanks for your concern Wayne. We're keeping an eye on it. Yesterday we were in the lower end of the cone. Today we're deeper in the cone.

We got Bahama shutters after Irma went through two years ago. Bought a couple of sleeves of batteries at Costco months ago. Have a lot of canned goods. Making lots of ice. Fresh bread in the oven. Both vehicles have about 3/4's of a tank of gas. Went yesterday morning and the lines were long, so I didn't stay.

Praying that front comes down and blows it out to sea.

I'm still here. Took a walk before one of the feeder bands hit.

This has to be the longest wait for a hurricane to move. The people in the islands took a pounding. Shure hope it goes north soon. Be safe.

Keeping you all in my prayers. This has to be the strangest hurricane... Moving only 1 mph. You all stay safe. God bless.
