How to contact Phlearn?

Black Friday I ordered one of Phlearn's courses as they were advertising a sale. I clicked via the email I received to access their site. Quite often web sites will automatically apply their coupon code so it doesn't need to be entered, but they didn't. And of course I forget to enter it. So I sent Phlearn a message (via their web site) not long after ordering.

I sent a second message last evening, and a 3rd message a little while ago. Unfortunately they don't list a phone number or email address for contacting them. All contact appears to go directly through their web site. This is a difference of over $50. Does anyone know how else to get in touch with them? I paid via PayPal and can probably dispute the transaction, but I'd prefer to deal with a Phlearn employee.

I wrote a reply to one of their Facebook posts asking them to please check their forum messages. They don't even offer any way to send them a PM via Facebook or to write a new post on their Facebook page. I was only able to reply to one of their existing FB posts.

But I finally did receive a $48 refund. I sent them a reply to that email telling them, With all due respect, Seth, my refund should have been $51 not $48…but thanks.

And you know what? My email bounced back to me as a permanent error so I just sent it out via a different email address. Seriously...their customer service has a lot to be desired.

My second email got through, and they said I was correct. So they issued me the remainder of the balance. I also mentioned how my first email bounced back so they confirmed that first email address is the one in their system for my account. Not sure why it bounced back, but my 2nd email from a different address went through without any trouble. At least the situation has been resolved. :encouragement:

Glade to hear it finally worked out for you.

Thanks, Brent. I hope if any other members need to contact Phlearn, they won't have to jump through hoops. Maybe a lot of employees were off for the week, or maybe they really don't have that many people who work there. At least it is resolved. :)

@hark. Bad customer service is why I dumped KelbyOne. They never responded to any of my e-mails, and I was having some technical issues that needed addressing. Luckily, it was within the trial period.
At least Phlearn took care of you once you reached them. Maybe it was just an anomaly.

I am surprised to hear that about Scott Kelby. To me Scott Kelby is in an entirely different league than Aaron Nace of Phlearn. Scott has authored many books and travels quite a bit around the world making him more visible to the public. You'd think with all his exposure (play on words ;)), he'd have a higher level of customer service.

He probably has a team running the site, and he may not be aware there are problems. I gave them lots of time to answer and sent multiple e-mails. Never heard from them. I was willing to pay for the information, but not if help isn’t there when I need it to solve technical problems with their downloads. I am not the only one who has had issues with their communication.

It is ok. I can live without them.

It seems to me you gave them ample opportunity to make things right which, to be fair, they eventually DID do; but your overall experience was clearly a poor one and unnecessarily frustrating. That's too bad because I've watched a lot of Phlearn's free content and have considered ponying up a few bucks on their site, but now I think I'll give them a pass. Too many sites doing what they do without the hassle. Like you, I can live without them.

Going to make another plug for Lynda.com now because of how awesome I think it is... Free thirty-day(!) trial and $20 a month for a basic subscription.

I was talking about my experience with KelbyOne. They lost a potential customer with me. I am looking at Lynda since you recommended them before. I never bothered to sign up with Phlearn. Seems to me it is kind of pricey. Anyway, I ditched Adobe for Affinity, but the techniques used to process images are similar. Affinity does a pretty good job, but there are some weak areas.
