Not Mine For Sale, But...!

FWIW I have never seen a dslr or dslr lens for sale on my local craigslist that was a fair market price or a good deal and I have been watching for many years now. They always want more than they are worth and in many cases way more than they are worth.

Probably put the email there to try to prevent spam.
Yup. Common tactic to prevent algo's that suck up email addresses from sites like that.

And for what it's worth, I've never had anything but great success with both buying and selling on Craigslist.

My worst experience has been the near-inevitable smart-asses who make ridiculous, low-ball offers just to see if you're desperate enough to unload your $1,200 item for $50.

My hubby sold a Blackberry on Craigslist with no problem.
I guess some people get spammed a lot. Some people make inquiries because they are bored. Just like anything else, you just have to be careful and decide if you are dealing with a clown or not.

Not meant for advertising purposes AT ALL (moderators, feel free to delete), but just for general entertainment purposes, here is my Craigslist "page" that started last year when I was out of work. Being unemployed inspired me to take a less materialistic tack on life, and unload my junk. I have sold a lot, a few of these things have been renewed several times.

Mostly motorcycle stuff. I decided that photography was a safer, and cheaper hobby. And it does not take a ongoing infusion of petroleum to enjoy it.
I find something in a box, and if it looks like it has ANY value, I put it up. I don't sell enough to warrant eBay fees.

What is going on???

Nikon D7100 in "Like New" condition with less than < 300 actuation. $400

This one could be hinky - they put a "coded" email address in the size/dimension field. I prefer my initial contacts with Craigslist people through Craigslist communications email system.

Well, I could not resist - I contacted the seller about the D7100. This was the response.....

Hey Rob,

I'm sorry to say i sold this to another person. But i wont hide where i got it from. I picked up 2 brand new ones for under $70 from "actionsbid dot com" [I deleted the link]

It's very easy to win. The trick is to bid only when the counter hits 4 seconds.

Thanks,

I tried one of those websites a couple of years ago. I never won anything, lost all my "pennies" and was a nervous wreck. I gave it up quick.
