Site to avoid

I don't know if this is the correct place for this but or even if I am allowed to do so. I bought a Nikon MB-D80 battery pack at what I believed to be a good price from Best Accessories Store UK, --for the best accessories selection and service. Little did I know that it was a fake. I should have known really but hindsight is a wonderful thing. Before ordering I contacted them to make sure it was a genuine Nikon item and where it was coming from. They stated that they only sell genuine items and it was being posted from the Netherlands. I promptly ordered it and waited and waited. After contacting them again to find out where it was they said it would be with me next week. Guess what, no sign of it. I then started to get a little concerned and did more research on this website only to find that they DO sell fakes. I was also contacted by my bank (Barclays) to query the transaction as they know about a company called JNA MAOYI selling fake products. There is no mention of this name on the best-accessories site. I then wrote various emails to try and get my money back to no avail. The item did arrive eventually from China via the Netherlands and I compared it to a used one i had bought from a reputable ebay seller. It was obviously a fake and I couldn't get the two batteries in and close the door. Anyway, to cut a long story short, Barclays resolved the situation and immediately got my money back. I have had no reply to any emails from best-accessories.

I hope this will be a warning to anyone wanting a 'bargain'.

The price should have been a huuuge red flag: Nikon OEM battery grips do not sell for £50. I would assume something closer to £250.

Glad to hear you got your money back.

I totally agree about the red flag. I must have had a brain f**t or something. There's no fool like an old fool . The used one I bought cost me £33 and looks like new.

I think we've all been there... And scoring a legit grip for that price would certainly make up for everything else in MY mind!

Like Paul said, it happens. The best part of this story is that it all worked out though, and that's not always the case.

I wonder why they didn't ask for the fake one back? I know, because they new damn well it was fake. As you say, at least I got the money back. Once bitten twice shy.
