It's a sad state of affairs when we have to ask....

... "...is it legal to take items from another shopper before they reach the checkout,..."?

BBC News - Who, what, why: Can you 'steal' from fellow shoppers?

I can't even believe that someone even has to ask this question. What ever happened to, "don't take something that does not belong to you"? Instead, we are trying to find some sort of loop-hole to "legally" take something from somebody who is on their way to pay for it at the cash. WTF? Sometimes i wonder how humanity has lasted this long.

Its a sad state of affairs when the police are called to a supermarket to control the people who are trampling over one another in order to get a "bargain" from a supermarket... Black friday can go back to where it came from if it does this to people. I've never seen this behavior even in our January sales.

If you have to ask this question you probably already *know* the answer, don't *like* the answer and are looking for ways to justify your bad behavior.

You are right. We should not even be debating this issue. All to save a fiver on some old discontinued stock?? This is civilised humanity??

I heard the UK had 'black friday' for the first time this year. Sounds like the US :)
I think its been going for about 4 years now here, buts its quickly gathering momentum yearly, with more and more retailers jumping on the bandwagon. All thanks to Amazon:mad:

Can't blame Amazon for this one. We've had black Friday in the U.S. for YEARS.
I blame greedy retailers and moronic shoppers.

I dont think I have ever been so disgusted to admit to being English( note NOT British), Where the hell were the security people or probably what have these animals got between their ears.

I am proud to be English just as someone from Wales or Scotland is proud to say they are Welsh or Scottish. The behavior I saw on the videos was taken in England and as such was not what I would ever want to see from an Englishman.

I wonder if there's a "proper English way" to riot at a football match.:cower:

Luckily this is dying a slow death here in the US. Online shopping is cutting into store sales and longer hours/earlier deals are spreading out the sales. Supposedly BF sales were down 11% this year, hopefully the trend continues each year.

I haven't done any Christmas shopping in a brick and mortar store in years. I can do it all in my jammies on Amazon. No lines at the store, no lines at the post office. This is how I roll now days.

True story: I decided to go to local k-mart and get 2 TV's for my girls years ago. I was reaching for the second one, when a woman shoulder blocks me and takes the last one. I get up and a store worker hints to me there is a pallet more in the next isle.

You are right in pointing this out Blacktop again a behavior I do not understand, but from what I saw on the news the thing that shocked me most was that it was the fairer sex that seemed to be involved.
