...or a new camera post about it, then not post any pictures with said equipment .
I think that anyone that does this should get some kind of infraction.

Seriously. I see thread called something like, "Hey guys! I just got my D4s and my new 85mm super sharp f /God Knows What lense
and I'm sooo excited that I can share it with you wonderful people"

Then I go open the thread with great and utter anticipation, and there is a picture of a stupid box that the crap came in taken with an iPhone.

This is a warning!!!! The first person that gets the new Tamron 150-600mm Nikon mount lens posts without at least 3 photos from that lens, will SUFFER!!:p

New gear tends to arrive when the Big Brown or Big White truck rolls up. That typically isn't when I'm heading out the door to shoot.

And I generally don't take the whole day off to sit and wait for a delivery just so I can take a bunch of shots around the neighborhood for the sole purpose of indulging people on a forum.

I buy a lens when I find one. I have a need or use for that lens. When the circumstances arrive that dictated the need for that lens rolls around, then I will use it.

The first thing I do with equipment I get, is to test it out. In case of camera, I just go out and take pictures. After that if there is time, post them.
