This has photoshop written all over it. With lightning that strong and intense, only the middle of the canyon was lit up and the foreground stayed perfectly dark?
Either Photoshop, or some seriously intense Lightroom PP. I'm leaning towards the former..It's still fantastic work either way.

Thats an extreme storm and one thats hard to capture, would love to see the EXIF but looking at it its around 10sec at a guess.

The data on the second pic: 24mm lens at f/8, ISO 400 and a 25 sec
