That did it! Thanks for your help.

I was a avid IE user for years till they started breaking sites all the time so about 3 or 4 years ago I went to Firefox and I did really like them. About 2 or 3 months ago they did an update that started giving me problems on both computers so on the advice of a couple of people here I tried Chrome again. It is clean, fast and seems to work better then either of the other two ever had.

Really dislike IE in all its iterations from day one. Adblocker doesn't work for IE. The trouble is Gates came to the game really late, tried to KO Netscape, so in the early days the courts forced M$ to cripple IE (rightfully so IMO due to Gates behavior). Better than it used to be but still a pain to manage bookmarks IMO.

So far nothing beats Firefox for handling bookmarks - it's so easy to add/delete and organize. Trouble is for a while FF was going through updates like crazy and my add-ons/plug ins couldn't keep pace. Haven't even tried a few of my favorites in ages. Had a really good one for 1-click DL'g 'tube videos. FF got bloat now and as mentioned in the thread I've noticed some issues with loading images from sites like flickr. Have to right-click the tab and do reload or hit F5 and that works too.

Tried Chrome in early days - needed work - might give it another shot.

Internet Exploder should be avoided, IMO, for one very simple reason: It remains deeply integrated with Windows; Firefox and Chrome are not. If you don't understand the implications of your *browser* being integrated, at a very core level, with your *operating system* you REALLY should be running Firefox or Chrome in my opinion.

Firefox has had some growing pains but I'm starting to think it has its collective act together again. Version 25.0 has been very stable for me of late while Chrome is also proving to be fast and stable. It also has most, if not all, of the most critical of extensions available for it. I use both with equal ease and have no real preference at this point.

Pick one, pick the other; but do yourself a favor and kick the "Internet Exploder" habit.

I was the same way. In the early days Chrome was to plain Jane and had no features. Today's Chrome reminds me of firefox before it got bloated. I was having the same problem with ad-ons in FF in that they would get broken every couple of weeks and I would have to go searching for something that would do what I wanted to do.

Thanks Don, I'll give it a shot.

Totally agree with your post. I'm sure you well know the history of IE.

:) Reading your last line gave me an idea:

FRIENDS DON'T FRIENDS USE IE - KICK THE HABIT!

What's really sad about this whole thing is that I trust Microsoft a LOT more than I trust Google.

And I don't trust Microsoft AT ALL!

You have to be a crooked Chicago lawyer to understand Google's TOS,

Microsoft's terms are a POS and security is practically nonexistent with BOTH of them!

My online usage is with Safari simply because I can run the damn thing.

hrm, I thought I fixed this. I guess not.

It's easier to just blame IE. ;)

I used to use it up til IE 4. That's how long this browser has been probably the worst browser available. I tried Firefox and have been completely satisfied ever since.

There's a difference between the 2 though: Google actually makes stuff that works good. ;)
