I picked up the Ape Case ACPRO 650 a few weeks back.

Works well for a quick grab-n-go bag. I mounted two plastic strap clips to the handlebars tonight (Thanks again Rick!).

I'll end up replacing the zip ties with velcro straps eventually. Might want to find a way to secure the bottom of the bag as well...

Hope to try it out soon.

so the plastic tie strips go through the carrying strap and straight on the handle bars, need to look at something like this for my bike, also after going thru coyote pass today I need to attach my monopod or a big stick.

Looks good Joe! Might try a bungee cord around the bottom and handlebar stem temporarily. Could sew a small velco strip to the bag to go around the stem also. Glad it worked out for you!

or cut two small slices in the bag to let another plastic tie strip go thru the bag and around the frame?

Almost. The zip ties attach the plastic strap hooks to the handlebar. Those clip attach to the black rings on the camera bag. I ride more without the bag than with. the bouncing clips would annoy me pretty quickly lol.

Velcro straps will allow me to attach the hooks when needed.

Could have used this today for my photo ride (pics coming). I just had the ape case in the rear rack bag for today. Extra cushioning :)

That is just what I was thinking. A small black bungee cord.

Not cutting the bag and I don't sew lol.

Too bad I was just going to recommend sewing a Velcro strap onto it. Maybe you could get someone else to do a bit of sewing for you? :)

Success. Bought a 3 pack of velcro straps at Lowes today. Cut two down for the bag clips (scrap is long enough to secure pedals for the bike roof rack). Third goes through the bag belt loop ro secure the bag to the stem :)

i took my camera for a ride today, i havent risked putting it on the bike itself due to the vibrations, Im worried it might damage something, especially in the lenses. Ive just made do with a rucksack. What are your experiences?

Vibration should not be an issue with these heavily padded bags. I'll bet it's safer/more secure mounted to the bike than in a rucksack should you fall.

What's the real benefit of one of these though? Not to sweat onto an otherwise backpack? To take the little weight of 1 body+lens off the shoulders? Though I don't bike, I do skate and blade plenty and just keep my gear on my back or quite often in-hand.

Months late, but I just saw this.

For me, it's about ease of access and letting my bike carry the load :)
