Hehe, it is latin. Cry as in cry-baby, co as in "sew" (sewing machine), cy as in *sigh*, and "on" just like saying "on top of old smokey".

It is a variation of the species name of the maned wolf, my favorite animal (my bachelors degree is in zoology)....
