Flickr question

I've a question for those who use Flickr. Where is the option to keep your images from being right clicked downloaded? I can't seem to find that option.

TIA

I used to have Smugmug and was going to upgrade to the "pro" product for the right click safety...

My son said it wasn't worth it because the images can still be stolen....

There is no way to completely protect pictures anywhere except by just not putting them on the internet.
All you can do is to make it a little harder for the normal user (disable right click). Also it has been suggested here by a number of people to make sure you only upload a low resolution image to start with so if they do steal it they won't get much.

I believe this is what you are looking for;

Visit: http://www.flickr.com/account
Click the 'Privacy & Permissions' tab
Under 'Global Settings' see 'Who can access your original image files?' - Click EDIT.

OR

http://www.flickr.com/account/prefs/downloads/?from=privacy

That said, any time you upload an image to the web, you are posting copies out there for others. This setting prevents typical downloads but does not prevent things like taking screen shots and downloading a copy that way.

It is only a deterrent, like a car alarm etc :)

Borrowed from digital-photography-school

What you can do to discourage people is to change the "Who can download your stuff" option to "Only Me". That will add a .gif file on top of your image that if someone right clicks will just come up as "spaceball.gif". This can be bypassed (just as right-click protection can), but it's still useful. You should be able to find that option here (clicking the link will take you to the right page of your account page).

Dave - I haven't tried to ask if other people can download my pictures but you can type "your account" on the search box once you are on your flickr page. Go to the Privacy and permissions tab. I hope it works.

Ahhh...I see. The word "Deterrent" wasn't registering with me when I was searching. I kept looking for "download" or "right click". It's little confusing but I got it. Thanks all!!
