Home wi-fi or 3g?

My wife just got an iphone and we added a data plan . Is it better to use wi-fi or the 3g? We are new to this stuff any input appreciated!!

Wi-fi, unless you are on a lower tier DSL, is almost always going to be faster. It also doesn't count toward any data caps you have.

Wi-Fi on a local network or wi-fi hot spots will give you better and faster performance. If you rely on 3G you'll have spotty reception, very slow access and a good deal of the time you'll be roaming with potentially slower performance or no access at all.

As stated by others I would lean towards WiFi Unless you are on a real slow connection at home. However, if you choose to use your 3g (Which I cant imagine is slower than your wifi) it would depend on your plan and your use. My wife and I are still Grandfather-claused into our Unlimited use data plan. However My wifi is stil faster than the 4g LTE network.
