Hey everyone. My name is Shane and live just outside Charlotte N.C.. I''m an oldie but goodie and have been around photography since I was a teen in high school. I took 4 years of lithography, in high school, shooting with an old Minolta SRT 101. I had a Canon AE1 while in the service in the 70's. My last camera was a Nikon N65. I now own a Nikon D750 with a 28-300mm VR lens. I just purchased a 24mm 2.8D to try my hand at astrophotography. Looking forward to shooting landscapes around N.C. and in the mountains. I've have a lot of Cobb webs to clear out, and tons to learn about my D750. Thanks for having me!

Was with the Army Security Agency, spent my last 7 months at Ft. Devens as a basic electronics instructor, got out in August and never looked back. We’ve got a daughter that lives in Asheville, so I’m a little familiar with NC.

Welcome aboard. Enjoy the ride.
We look forward to seeing more posts and samples of your work.

I too an an oldie but goodie. My first serious camera was my father's Argus C3 (manual everything). In high school, early 60's, I took photography classes. I got my own SLR, a Mamiya Sekor 500 TL SLR while in college and things progressed from there.

A little update. Well I just scored a 50mm f/1.8D and am having loads of fun with it. I know, can ya imagine NOT having a nifty fifty? Well now I do. I got a great deal on it, 57 buck shipped. Ok, Ok I know, I stole it. Excellent used condition is how it was advertised. And it does look brand new. I know most don't get excited over a nifty fifty, but this is an awesome little general purpose lens. It weighs about half of what my 24mm f/2.8D does. For some reason I'm gravitating towards the D series. Ya really can't beat them for the price. And being I am far from a professional, it allows me to buy more toys for my D750. Carry on folks, hope you have a great weekend.
