I have joined your family because I have had my Nikon Fe for the past 30yrs and i thought it was time i joined the Digital age of Photography. I am waiting for the D7000 to come back online in the stream of production before i take the plunge.

But in the meantime i am going to get familiarized with all that is Digital Photography by checking out the forum and asking all my questions to all of you who have the experience.

It's a pleasure and an honour of being part of this family...

Welcome to the forum fellow Canadian. I'm in Sherbrooke QC, not too far from you.

Going to film to digital is not as hard as someone might think. The only thing you have to learn is the digital post processing (Photoshop, lightroom, Aperture, etc..) But with digital, you can check your exposure immediately. For me, this was exactly as I was used to do with polaroid tests except I don't have to wait for the 60 seconds and stain my shirts' underarm. :)

Welcome.

I've always said that Digital is exactly like film, only different.

Thank you to those (Marcel Carey, Mike 150, Bluenoser and Fotojack) who replied to my introduction message.

I am looking forward to the learning curve which from what I have read is not that great between film and digital photography.

I do have software on my home PC that corrects digital photos due to the fact that when I bought my girlfriend her digital Sony camera a few Xmas’s ago I didn’t have anything to correct exposure, red eye and all the other anomalies that crop up when taking digital photos.

I look forward in learning and discussing topics with all of you and those in the know in our family of Nikonites

Hello fellow Canadian. I've also recently joined and have already learned a lot from this site. I'm in the Oakville/Mississauga area.
